19th January Blogs

I made for him a mossy nest
And gently laid his bones to rest
Through snow and tears I thanked him for his song
But in my head, the blackbird said
Do not weep! A tryst I'll keep:
In May you'll hear my songs again.
In bridal blossom on the thorn
My lifeblood and my song reborn
I'll see you there my love, I'll see you then.

RIP Woozle
This is, incidentally, our 1000th blog announcement

As my laptop is not allowing me into Purplecoo proper at the moment, I wanted to take this opportunity to say how very shocked and sorry I was to hear about Woozle. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all who knew and loved her.

Lixtroll, that is a lovely and wonderful poem that deserves a wider circulation. You are so clever with your rhymes but this one is far deeper and more special.

Am I going mad, or was this poem not here when I posted my comment this morning?

Tis very lovely and so perfect given Woozle's story too about her trapped bird - a lovely theme kept going and beautifully expressed emotion. Thank you.
